Becerril de Campos

Becerril de Campos is located in the beautiful natural region of “Tierra de Campos”. Bordering the village is the "Ramal de Campos" of the "Canal de Castilla", that is one of the most important engineering works of the Spanish Enlightenment. There is a bridge on top of it with led us to La Laguna de la Nava

Las Casas del Corro are located in the village’s centre with was declared historic city, that allow us to walk through an important and rich cultural and artistic heritage.

From the villa’s history we should highlight it’s past as “villa de Behetria” (neighbours could freely admit lord who wanted to). The ancient past of the village is reflected in the unique homes and buildings preserved, and the remains of some of the seven churches and several chapels that had the villa.

We access to the historic city centre through a beautiful pointed arch, the only door that is preserved and that lead us to Santa Eugenia church, the current parish church, next to a XVI century fountain.

After that we have a wonderful Plaza Mayor with its typical Castilian porches where the old town hall was restored as a cultural center, and the current town hall, built in the early nineteenth century, with its moral proverbs written on top of all windows.

In the church of Santa Maria is the Sacred Art Museum in which highlights the work of Pedro Berruguete and Alejo de Bahía. From the remains of three other churches, we highlight the Mudejar style tower brich-XIV (St. Martin's Church), the tower of the newly restored church of St. Michael as "lookout" and the doorway Romanesque of St. Pedro, XII century
